# 11. Complex Gesture Interactions with React Native Gesture Handler (Pan, Pinch, Fling)

### 1. Why Native Gesture Handler (RNGH) Is Essential 👆

React Native ka default Responder system JS thread ke events pass karta hai.
**RNGH (Gesture Handler 2):** iOS `UIGestureRecognizer` aur Android `GestureDetector` native views ke sath direct bind hota hai!

---

### 2. Pan Gesture & Interactive Physics Drag

```tsx
import { Gesture, GestureDetector } from 'react-native-gesture-handler';
import Animated, { useSharedValue, useAnimatedStyle, withDecay } from 'react-native-reanimated';
export function DraggableCard() {
    const translationX = useSharedValue(0);
    const prevTranslationX = useSharedValue(0);
const panGesture = Gesture.Pan()
        .onStart(() => {
            prevTranslationX.value = translationX.value;
        })
        .onUpdate((event) => {
            translationX.value = prevTranslationX.value + event.translationX;
        })
        .onEnd((event) => {
            // Momentum physics withDecay:
            translationX.value = withDecay({ velocity: event.velocityX });
        });
const style = useAnimatedStyle(() => ({
        transform: [{ translateX: translationX.value }]
    }));
return (
        <GestureDetector gesture={panGesture}>
            <Animated.View style={[styles.card, style]} />
        </GestureDetector>
    );
}
```

---

### 3. Master Comparison Matrix

| Feature | Gesture.Simultaneous | Gesture.Race | Gesture.Exclusive |
| :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- |
| **Execution** | Dono gestures ek sath active | Jo gesture pehle activate ho wo jeetegi | Priority order me fallback |
| **Example** | Pinch-to-zoom + Pan-to-move | Single Tap vs Pan drag | Double Tap vs Single Tap |

---

### 4. Interview Ke 3 Sawal Is Topic Se

1. **`GestureHandlerRootView` app root me lagana kyu mandatory hai?** -> Taaki native touch tracking tree pure component hierarchy me gesture events ko intercept aur dispatch kar sake.
2. **Scroll conflict (ScrollView ke andar horizontal swipeable item) kaise fix hota hai?** -> `Gesture.Pan().activeOffsetX([-10, 10])` lagakar vertical scroll ko interrupt hone se rokna.
3. **`withDecay` aur `withSpring` physics animations me kya difference hai?** -> `withSpring` damping/stiffness target par snap karta hai; `withDecay` initial velocity ke anusaar friction se gradually stop hota hai (like flinging a coin).
