# 16. Metaclasses: How Classes are Created (__new__ vs __init__)

> Python 0-to-Hero Notes by Rishabh - Topic 16

---

### 1. Everything is an Object, and Every Class is an Instance of `type` 🧬

In Python:
$$Object \xleftarrow{\text{Instance of}} Class \xleftarrow{\text{Instance of}} \mathbf{Metaclass (type)}$$

```python
# Creating a class dynamically using type():
MyClass = type('MyClass', (object,), {'x': 10, 'greet': lambda self: "Hello!"})
```

---

### 2. Custom Metaclass for Automatic Architecture Validation

```python
class StrictAPIMeta(type):
    def __new__(cls, name, bases, dct):
        if name != "BaseAPI" and "execute" not in dct:
            raise TypeError(f"Class '{name}' MUST implement 'execute()' method!")
        return super().__new__(cls, name, bases, dct)
class BaseAPI(metaclass=StrictAPIMeta):
    pass
class UserAPI(BaseAPI):
    # Fails compilation if execute() is missing!
    def execute(self): return "OK"
```

### 3. Interview Ke 3 Sawal Is Topic Se

1. **`__init_subclass__` (PEP 487) metaclasses ka lightweight alternative kyu hai?** -> Bina complex metaclass boilerplate likhe simple base class me subclasses ko customize aur validate karne deta hai.
2. **Pydantic / Django ORM models me Metaclasses ka kya use hai?** -> Field annotations inspect karke dynamic serialization schemas aur database bindings generate karna.
3. **Metaclass conflict error kab aata hai?** -> Jab multiple parent classes ke alag-alag conflicting metaclasses hon.

---
**Next Topic:** 17. Concurrency Overview: CPU-Bound vs I/O-Bound Bottlenecks
